"eARTh" : Nature Based Art Class with ZOTO

Professional Nature artist and Stone Balancing Master ZOTO (Adam Conard) offers a unique 5-week art course encouraging students to connect with nature through art, using natural materials as inspiration and subject matter.
Students in this all levels course will learn techniques in 5 different artistic expressions, including:
Meditative Stone Balancing
Feather-Based Art
Leaf / Stick-Based Art
Natural Mediums Painting
Wildflower Paper Making
All materials are included in this course, and it is walk-in ready. You will be encouraged (optional) to spend some time in nature in between classes (if only your yard), looking for and harvesting materials for the classes. Each week will feature a take-home piece of art that you will make in the class, as well as a new creative expression and connection with our eARTh.

Abstract Collage using Deconstructed Materials
with Leigh Bennett

This class is a must for gelli printers, painters, and collage enthusiasts. We will start by gathering and deconstructing our "household" items. Various techniques will be demonstrated to manipulate, design, paint, cut, and rip these items for use in a wonderful and exciting 3-D abstract Collage. The finished pieces can range in size from small to extra-large! This is an "outside of the box" class with lots of space for self-expression and experimentation!!!

Art Journaling Experience
with Sheryl Levine

The practice of art journaling is a place where creatives can explore their artistic voice while experiencing a variety of media such as collage, painting, printmaking, drawing and stitching. In this class, participants will be encouraged to create journal pages that embrace experimentation and reflect observations from life and personal experiences. This class is for all levels of experience.
Materials needed:
- 8-1/2 x 11 or 9 x 12 mixed media sketchbook. Can be hardcover or spiral-bound. Please, no glue bindings. It is important to use mixed media weight paper for this class.
- acrylic paints including black and white
- watercolor pencils
- gesso
- #2 pencil
- Scissors
- Glue stick (UHU stick recommended)
- Gel matte medium (small container or tube)
- Matte medium (small bottle)
- 1 inexpensive utility paint brush
- variety of sizes of paintbrushes, any that you already have
- palette paper
- roll of paper towels
- collage paper
- old magazines
Instructor will provide:
- A variety of mixed media art materials
- Rulers
- X-acto knives and self-healing mat
