Are you ready to learn something new? Have you always wanted to try your hand at mosaics? Classes are catered to beginning and intermediate students. I believe in unlocking the creative within every one of us, and trying to offer a wide range of classes for all students. Whether you’re a brand new student hoping to learn a thing or two about art, or if you’re simply interested in picking up a new hobby, I'm here to welcome you to the "Beginner Mosaic Workshop".

It's an introduction to ceramic tile mosaics and an excellent starting point for those who want to study mosaics further or for those who just want to experiment with the medium.

This Workshop covers everything you need to know to create a mosaic that will last: safety, tools and their use, types of materials, substrates, and adhesives suitable for both interior and exterior mosaics, setting tile, mosaic design basics, basic terminology, and finally resources.

I will demonstrate the grouting process. You can choose to grout at home (You will be sent home with a grouting kit and instructions) or grout on the second day of the workshop.

I will give you step-by-step instructions to complete your mosaic art. Most projects come with a hanger on the back. Projects are for indoor use or can be used on a covered patio.

Please avoid direct weather contact with your finished projects. Students will create an 8-inch to 10-inch wooden subtract in several forms or a tile to take home. No art or mosaic experience necessary!

Learn to see like an artist! In this 3- hour weekly class, you will learn the basic skills and techniques to draw anything you see. Then, you will create a 3D finished graphite drawing of your choice. The class is a step-by-step method for beginners that will give you the skills to draw and improve your artwork.

The practice of art journaling is a place where creatives can explore their artistic voice while experiencing a variety of media such as collage, painting, printmaking, drawing and stitching. In this class, participants will be encouraged to create journal pages that embrace experimentation and reflect observations from life and personal experiences. This class is for all levels of experience.

Materials needed:

- 8-1/2 x 11 or 9 x 12 mixed media sketchbook. Can be hardcover or spiral-bound. Please, no glue bindings. It is important to use mixed media weight paper for this class.

- watercolor pencils

- gesso

- #2 pencil

- Scissors

- Glue stick (UHU stick recommended)

- Gel matte medium (small container or tube)

- Matte medium (small bottle)

- 1 inexpensive utility paint brush
