In this fun and intensive workshop you will learn a unique technique for painting wildlife. Through a combination of painting demonstrations, fun and informatiive lectures, and one-on-one instruction, Certified Wildlife Instructor Steven Brooks will guide you through the process of creating two different wildlife works. In this 2-day workshop you will learn how to use acrylic underpainting for shape, tones and values with oil paint glazing to create color and depth. This process allows artists at all skill levels to paint beautiful animals. 

With the skills you learn you will be able to independently paint wildlife after the workshop.

This March/April Class will introduce a fresh selection of artists!

Virtually all of art history's great painters started with still life painting before moving to their own form of art. This is a class to not only learn the techniques of still life painting, but also to learn about the methods of history's great still life painters. Each class will start off with a brief illustrated presentation, beginning with The History of Still Life Painting and subsequently covering artists such as Monet, Picasso, Porter and Rosebrugh. Following the presentations, students will seek to incorporate ideas learned into their own paintings. The instructor will give frequent demonstrations and provide close personal attention to each student.

In this 3-day workshop, participants will explore the unique techniques of painting with oil and cold wax, creating stunning abstracts and seascapes rich with texture, layers, and marks that only this medium can achieve. Through a series of warm-up exercises, students will build their confidence, setting the stage for unleashing their creativity and diving into a world of infinite possibilities with cold wax.
